At the world football level, the EPL has the highest revenue share today and the fourth-highest of any professional sports league globally.


The league has some of the wealthiest football clubs in the world, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, etc.

This high revenue resulted from booming television rights over the last few years.


The league’s billions are accrued from Television rights sold to top companies, including Sky Sports, BT Sports, etc.

Clubs enjoyed broadcasting and merit payments available for the EPL teams, with over £2.5billion of central funds and prize money.


How Premier League small clubs benefit from the high prize money


The English Premier League average sides would benefit more from finishing even within the middle table.

As per the distribution pool, clubs within the average position at the end of the season receive at least £150-80 million pounds.


This is far way better than other European soccer leagues.

This revenue shares the total amount of money shared among the 20 participating clubs in the division during the season.


At least, smaller sides would be able to make some reasonable expenses in terms of player buys, payroll, and club-level other expenditures.


Premier League vs. Champions League prize money, which is higher?

The Premier League award’s winners valued around 153 million pounds, while Champions League winners would receive about 95 million pounds.

At least, this was the amount Chelsea received as winners of the 2020/2021 season.

The Champions League teams receive more money from bonus to qualification for knockout stages, while Premier League teams are paid in full based on standings on the table.

About half of the money generated is divided equally between the participating teams.


One-quarter of the money is shared amongst the clubs based on final league standings at the end of the season.


The winners receive the highest revenue share, far better than the bottom-placed club.

The other income from overseas is divided equally.
