Premier League longest unbeaten run – Top 5 teams ranked
The Premier League is one of the most competitive football tournaments in the world. “English heavyweights teams” fight against each other, and every victory feels like a great triumph.
In a league where anyone can beat anyone, it is very difficult to conjure up an undefeated streak. The battle for the top starts from the beginning, and even the biggest clubs often fail to make a gap between them and other teams from the middle or bottom half.
However, despite its competitive nature, some teams have thrived and dominated the league over the years.
Arsenal – 49 matches, May 2003 – October 2004
Henry, Pires, and company won the Premier league undefeated in the 2004 season. That is almost impossible to imagine in today’s English league. Arsenal was undefeated for 49 games, “fell” in the 50th against United at Old Trafford. In those 49 matches, the “Gunners” won 36 times and drew 13, scoring as many as 112 goals and conceding only 35. This team is named “The Invincibles.”

Liverpool – 44 matches, January 2019 – February 2020
It looked like Jurgen Klopp’s side could match Arsenal’s record 49-game unbeaten run and claim the ‘Invincibles’ title. However, Liverpool fell on the road to the stifling Watford, for whom every point was very important in the fight for the relegation battle in the Premier League. The last time Liverpool lost was on January 3, 2019, when they were away at Manchester City (1-2) and then went on a 44-game unbeaten streak.
Chelsea – 40 matches, October 2004 – October 2005
The Mourinho impact was visible all over Stamford Bridge back then. It was maybe one of the best periods in Jose Mourinho’s career as he dominated with Chelsea in England and Europe. Chelsea lost against Manchester City on October 16, and after that match, they went on a streak of 40 matches without defeat, and they lost again in October 2005 after one year. Interestingly, Chelsea continued its good form without a defeat in their home stadium until 2008.

Arsenal – 30 matches, December 2001 – October 2002
Maybe this run without defeat hinted at what was to come, “The Invincibles.” These two streaks without a defeat make Arsene Wenger the only manager who led the team in 30+ matches without a defeat. This streak began against Liverpool just before Christmas 2001 and ended in October 2002.

Manchester City – 30 matches, April 2017 – January 2018
It would be very strange to write about Premier league records and streaks and not to mention Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City.

It was a magical season for the blue team from Manchester as they won the title and were the first to reach 100 points, after which the team was nicknamed “Centurions.” It’s interesting that this streak began in the 2016/2017 season and continued in the 2017/2018 season, and in both this season, Manchester City won the Premier League.
