Premier League latest decision concerning the number of substitutions in a single game might affect Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United although the Argentine manager already has plans to tackle it.
Bielsa who helped the club return to the Premier League have had tremendous progress so far. A club like Leeds recently promoted to the elite division have one of the best performance so far.
According to the league’s governing body, the initial five substitutes allowed per game will no longer stand except the board decides to reintroduce it.
The managers of Liverpool and Manchester City have already expressed concerns to the recent decision by the league governing body not to reintroduce the five substitutions.
As revealed by the Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, he does not expect an increase in the number of substitutions per game (h/t Yorkshire Evening Post).
How this will affect Leeds United
Although Leeds United boost of several talented players in good shape and form, unexpected injuries could still hamper the club’s chances of maintaining their current form in the league.
Probably, Bielsa might not be affected by the decision not to increase the number of subs per game. Bielsa, a world-class manager who has been linked with several moves recently will not be affected to an extent.
The Argentine manager has an array of players like Patrick Bamford, Alioski, Jack Harrison, Kalvin Phillips. The club are equal to the task even in the absence of five substitutions per game.
