Öztunali has finally opened up about his switch from Mainz 05 to Union Berlin.

Levin Öztunali is expected to be the latest Midfield reinforcements ahead of the 2021/2022 German Bundesliga season.

The 25-year-old contract with his Mainz 05 lasted for five years and he is geared up for a new challenge elsewhere.

He moves to Mainz as a free agent. Shortly after confirming the switch, Öztunali gave his reasons for the Union Berlin move.

“After five great years at FSV Mainz 05, I’m now looking forward to the new challenge at 1. FC Union Berlin. Union has shown in recent years what you can achieve with hard work and a great team spirit and how you can inspire people.”

“I hope that there will soon be spectators at the An der Alten Försterei stadium again and that we can secure relegation together with the fans in the coming season, ” said Öztunali.

He’s now the fourth reinforcements for Union Berlin even as the club prepare on time for the new season after finishing below the European spot.
