Over eight thousand fans are in the stands for the game between RB Leipzig and Mainz 05 at the Red Bull Arena.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, fans were restricted from visiting football stadiums across Germany.
However, the start of the new Bundesliga season saw a government approval which permits fans at a considerable number to visit football stadiums in the country.

RB Leipzig kickstarts the new season knowingly fully well a decent result would be the only acceptable outcome for the matchday.
Leipzig fans are expecting another brilliant performance surpassing last season’s Champions League breakthrough. Leipzig also lost out on the Bundesliga title after a slump towards the end of last season.
Despite having a lesser number of fans compared to the traditional sides in the Bundesliga, Leipzig was able to get to the Champions League semi-final with the support of their fans.
But this season with the fans back in the stands, Leipzig could outperform last season’s achievement.
