Optimism grows in Real Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe
The future of PSG star Kylian Mbappé is still up in the air amid the rumoured exit from the French club in the summer. The 24-year-old told the Parisians he will not trigger the option in his contract that allows him to extend his stay at the club to 2025, according to Reuters.
However, if he stays at the club next season without renewing his contract with them, he will leave for free, and the Parisians are preventing this from happening. According to Transfermarkt, the Frenchman is worth 180 million euros, but a potential sale could cost around 150 to 200 million euros for the club.
But despite these staggering sums, the club is unwilling to let go of him and insists he stays with them.
One of the main destinations for Mbappe, according to Newspapers across Europe, has been Real Madrid, and a recent report by Marca revealed Florentino Perez’s unexpected comments regarding the player’s move to the club in the future.
Perhaps the biggest hint of the transfer saga was the letter that was sent to the club that stated his intentions of not renewing beyond next season.
Now fichajes.com cites the Spanish journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon that optimism is growing regarding Real Madrid’s signing of Kylian Mbappé in the last few hours.
The report suggests his mother and agent is working towards securing a deal with Los Blancos. It could come in the coming weeks.
