The Super Eagles made a landmark achievement back in 1976 as they won the All African Games football gold medal.

Also, the team went on to win the African Cup of Nations in 1978, stamping Nigeria authority in African football. This was however achieved after the country gained independence from its colonial masters Britain.

One other remarkable achievement which has consistently kept the country’s name at the highest level was the winning of a gold medal during the 1996 Olympic Games in the city of Atlanta, United States.
