Newcastle Jets snatch late winner against Perth Glory in A-League matchday two – player ratings and review
Newcastle Jets opened their account for the new season with a hard fought win over visitors Perth Glory at the Newcastle International Sports Centre.
The Jets clash with Central Coast Mariners was cancelled last weekend due to heavy downpour.
Carl Jenkinson layed a brilliant cross into Perth Glory box and located Jordan Elsey unmarked in a close range and the Australian international headed home the first goal for the home side.

The home side continued knocking on the door until they finally found a breakthrough In added time as Beka Mikeltadze received a pass in the 18-yard box of the visitors and fired the ball into the bottom left corner.
Jordan Elsey was sent off in the 72nd minute after the Video Assistant Referee spotted the foul and made the call.
Newcastle Jets earned their first three points at home and will set sights on the next game.
