Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has tested positive yet again for covid-19 after an initial test last week confirmed the Nigerian was positive.
Contracted during a birthday party in Lagos Nigeria last week, the Napoli forward was asked to sit out of the first team as measures to prevent a possible spread.
However, is expected to continue on the sidelines once again as confirmed by Walfoot via Napoli’s official Twitter handle.

The problems in the goalscoring department at the club was felt in his absence and Coach Gennaro Gattuso was under pressure for his team’s inability to find the back of the net.
An extension of an existing problem for Gennaro Gattuso
The manager was under pressure for his team’s inability to score goals, and this could be extended further with the recent covid-19 positive result on the player.
A hard-fought win over Udinese appears to have increased the confidence of the manager, but the existing problems remain unfixed.
Napoli signed Victor Osimhen as a future replacement for Arkadiusz Milik who was the main goalscorers alongside Lorenzo Insigne. As result, Milik was not registered for the 2020/2021 Italian Serie A season.
But as things stand currently, the purpose of bringing Osimhen to Napoli appears not to be having a headway, even though it is still early days at the club.
As per La Repubblica journalist Cobo in our earlier report, Osimhen is a great absentee in the team which needs to be fixed on time to put the team in fine shape for the rest of the season.
Indeed, his absence has affected Napoli’s performance across all competitions.
Before the teams in the Italian Serie A went on their compulsory winter break, the club could only manage twenty-seven goals in the league which fell short goals scored by the likes of AS Roma and AC Milan.
A great absentee, when will Victor Osimhen return to Napoli’s first team
According to the club’s report, another set of test will be carried out on the player next week to ascertain his readiness. For now, his return to the first team is still pending.
