Napoli softens stance on Victor Osimhen transfer: PSG, Man United alerted
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is one of the most experienced in the transfer market. He knows how to negotiate to sell and sign players, which has proven to work for him over the years.
Initially, he was hard on the potential sale of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen in the summer. Still, his recent comments suggest he could be open to selling the red-hot striker, who is now one of the most followed players on the European continent.
“We have an agreement with him to extend his contract for two more years. […] But if a decisive offer for him arrives, it studied.” Said the Napoli president in a press conference, as cited by Fichajes.
His comments in the press conference have revealed a change of mind as he could be open to negotiating with clubs interested in securing the services of his forward, possibly in the summer transfer window.
Now these comments have put top clubs that have been vying for his signature on a high alert.
Last season, Osimhen was instrumental as he helped Napoli to lift their first Serie A title in 33 years, winning the Golden Boot after scoring 26 league goals.
But something seems to be off the limit of potential suitors are the demands made by the Napoli president. According to Transfermarkt, Osimhen is valued at around 120 million euros. But other areas in a potential agreement could cause an increase.
For Osimhen, what stands in the way is the asking fee. But the recent comments of the president suggested a change in stance. Man United and PSG, two long-term admirers of the 24-year-old, have been alerted.
