As the Napolitano announced the capture of the most expensive African footballer of all time, all eyes pointed at how much impact he’ll make when the new season in Italy commence.
Victor Osimhen was instrumental during his time at Lille despite coming off as a flop at Wolfsburg.
Sporting Charleroi gave Osimhen the opportunity for Lille to see him. With his goal scoring abilities, goal contributions and offensive tactics, Osimhen is already considered as one of the best European prospects.
However, Napoli president has made it clear he expects the player to try his best and not a hot star in his first season as per Fussball Transfers.
The club president does not expect Osimhen to hit the ground running immediately, instead he expects the Nigerian to contribute to the team’s overall performance.
Osimhen who doubles as Africa’s most expensive signing of all time and Lille’s most expensive signing is expected to be a hit in Italy.
But club president De Laurentiis thinks otherwise.
“We have been watching Osimhen for a long time. Gattuso (trainer, editor’s note) and Giuntoli (sports director, editor’s note) wanted him and convinced me to sacrifice the 70 million euros. With bonus payments we reach 80 million, and if you add the salary that he will collect over the years, we end up with around 100 million, ”
