Napoli eye Brighton wonder boy Julio Enciso
Napoli has expressed interest in acquiring the services of Brighton’s young talent Julio Enciso, amid widespread speculation about the teenager’s potential move.
Brighton is resolute in their commitment to retaining the talent for an extended duration.
Napoli would need to present a bid that potentially surpasses their financial limitations to provoke serious consideration from Brighton.
Enciso became a part of Brighton just last summer, and his standout debut season in the Premier League has garnered attention from several European teams.
Having netted four goals in 20 league matches and secured the Goal of the Season accolade for his remarkable long-range effort against Manchester City in May, the 19-year-old has drawn significant interest.
Although it’s widely believed that Enciso is unlikely to depart from the southern coast, there are sources that Napoli has begun to consider the potential of pursuing a transfer.
Enciso, who had attracted attention from Manchester City before his move to England, is in no hurry to part ways with Brighton. The club boasts a commendable history of nurturing young talents.
Brighton secured Enciso for £9.5 million from the Paraguayan club Libertad Asuncion last year, following his impressive performance of scoring 11 goals in 14 league matches in the preceding month.
With 11 appearances already under his belt for the Paraguay national team, Enciso is widely acclaimed as one of the most promising and thrilling young forwards in the sport.
Following Enciso’s award-winning goal against City in the previous season, Brighton’s head coach Roberto De Zerbi expressed, “Julio possesses great potential. My desire is for him to improve his performance, contribute to the team, and I believe there’s room for improvement. Should he continue with us, there’s no doubt he can progress.”
Expected to feature prominently in Brighton’s upcoming campaign, Enciso is set to gain substantial playing time, especially as the team readies itself for its inaugural participation in European competitions.
The Seagulls are commanding a strong presence in the market, with their players highly sought after both within and beyond Europe. The most recent instance involves Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo, for whom Chelsea has made inquiries at a staggering £100 million.
