Since the absence of the young attacker, the blues of Naples have suffered greatly when it comes to the offensive side of view.

27 Goals less than AC Milan, AS Roma, which is bad report and situation which must be handled quickly to keep the season alive for the Partenopei, who are yet to fully benefit from the signing of Victor Osimhen, a red hot prospect from Lille.

Gennaro Gattuso’s men suffered immensely across all competitions. At least, games against smaller oppositions, the team struggled as they could not score goals unlike when he was in the team.

The stats revealing how Napoli has suffered since he left the first team due to injury

If you take a closer look at the league table, Napoli has only managed to score just 27 goals in over 13 matches so far, averaging about 1.5 goals per match, which is too poor for a club like Napoli.

Napoli’s attack in a crisis

Lozano Hirving is Napoli’s highest goalscorer in the Italian Serie A with six goals after 13 matches followed by Lorenzo Insigne, who has five goals to his name.

Apart from Osimhen who showed some brilliant sparkle at the start of the season, the entire attack appears to be out of form.

Dries Mertens and Osimhen remain sidelined due to return anytime soon. But the problem is how to score goals.

The reasons behind Napoli’s move during the transfer window was his excellent record and history, scoring goals.

At least, the Italian league cannot be bigger than him to succeed. In France, he was able to navigate his way around with Lille within the short time he spent with the club.

Scoring goals remains the only requirements from every striker and it would be very difficult is such is not achieved.

According to Calcio Napoli 24, Napoli played 737 minutes, with a total of 117 shots meaning a shot was taken after every 6.2 minutes without Osimhen on the field of play.

All these stats leading to fewer goals. Coach Gennaro Gattuso believes in what the Nigerian can bring to the team and injuries are only setbacks to it.

Hopefully, a return in the early part January 2021, probably within the first two weeks of the month would see the return of the 22-year old striker.
