Major League Soccer format
The Major League Soccer runs a system of no relegation or promotion free system.

The winner of the regular with the most points in the two conferences is awarded the Supporters Shield and qualifies automatically for the quarter-finals of the MLS Cup playoffs.
Other teams that finish from second to seventh on the final league standings qualifies for the MLS Cup playoffs round of 16.
