Club América – 14 Titles
Club América is the most successful team in the Liga MX, with over 14 titles. The club is one of the founding members of the Mexican top flight and has never been relegated.
América holds a long-standing deep rivalry with Chivas Guadalajara. Both teams are the most successful in the country and have the highest number of fans and supporters within and outside the country.
Guadalajara – 12 Titles
Chivas Guadalajara is one of the most successful teams in the history of México Soccer and the second most successful in the Liga MX haven, winning twelve titles against Club América’s record of thirteen titles. The club won its first league title in the 1956–57 season but waited another two years, in 1958–59, to add another title.
Chivas Guadalajara is also one of the founding members of the country’s elite division and has never been relegated from the division alongside Club América. They hold a unique history of not allowing foreigners to play for their first team and have also focused on building homegrown players to promote local players.
Toluca – 10 Titles
Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club is the third most successful team in the Liga MX, with ten titles. It is behind Chivas Guadalajara and Club América. They are the most successful, with twelve and thirteen titles, respectively.
Cruz Azul – 9 Titles
Cruz Azul follows with a total of eight Liga MX titles.
Club León – 8 Titles
Club León has won eight titles,
Tigres UANL – 8 Titles
Representing the University of Nuevo León, Tigres is one of the vibrant clubs in modern football in the country. Tigres has won the Liga MX seven times.
Pumas UNAM – 7 Titles
Pumas UNAM has won seven Liga MX titles representing the Autonomous University of México. UNAM shares a fierce rivalry with Club América in the country’s capital city, México City, known as Clásico Capitalino.
Pachuca – 7 Titles
Club Santos Laguna – 6 Titles
Santos Laguna has won six League crowns, most of which came in the modern era of Mexican professional football.
Monterrey – 5 Titles
Monterrey has won five domestic league titles.
