German defender Marcel Halstenberg has revealed plans for his future amid talks between his representatives and the club about a possible renewal of his contract beyond 2022.
The 29-year old defender also revealed there are current negotiations between his agent with the club’s representatives.
Marcel sees himself more comfortable with Leipzig.
“I feel right at home in Leipzig and can fully identify with the task,” the eight-time national player opens the door for a long-term stay with the Saxons, “the whole club has developed excellently, at the same time we all still have big goals,” he told Kicker as cited by Fussball Transfers.
Halstenberg is currently tied to Leipzig until 2022, but if negotiations come successful, he will extend beyond that time.
