Marcel Halstenberg and his RB Leipzig future are still possible after all. The German footballer who granted an interview to kicker believes his future with the club could still be possible.
So far, both sides have said that they will part ways in a few months amid the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2022.
Although there’s no extension yet, Leipzig had offered the centre back an extension a year ago, which he had refused. And at the moment, the club’s top hierarchy are not willing to submit a new offer either.
But the other side of the story, Leipzig’s new coach Domenico Tedesco is counting on Halstenberg, who’s currently working on his comeback to the first team.
RB Leipzig is currently faced with an uphill task of returning to the top half of the league table following a dismal performance that led to the club’s current position outside the Champions League places.
