Man City Football Academy was established to help develop young players or simply a youth development program at the club.

 

 

How to join Manc City  Football Academy

 

To be part of the Manchester City Academy, you’ll enrol for the City Football School, which helps boys and girls improve their skills and build self-confidence in football.

 

With the help of experienced coaches, the club provides young players with authentic and creative football coaching programs for players of all ages and abilities.

 

City Football School is subdivided into four programs to help players across the various spheres of football development.

1. Young Player Development Program

 

The Program allows Boys and girls to train and develop with the right facilities provided at the City Football Academy. It aims to teach these young players the same Manchester City training and playing philosophy.

 

Boys and Girls from 5–12 years old all abilities, would have access to the club’s world-class facility. The Young Player Development is the pathway to joining Manchester City Football Academy.

 

How to apply for the Young Player Development Program

  • Visit the Academy registration page
  • Fill in your details
  • Follow all instructions, including payments
  • Wait until you get feedback from the Academy team

 

Program Highlights

The year-round program is split into three courses: Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Course 1 runs for 12 weeks, with two training sessions a week.

All sessions delivered by established Manchester City Coaches, following the same philosophy used to develop City’s players, are delivered in a fun, positive and safe learning environment.

 

The first 12-week course costs £435 plus £50 for the kit. (Late booking will be costed on a weekly pro-rata rate).

All skill levels are catered for in this exciting program for 5-12-year-olds.

 

Program Content or Learning Objectives

 

Learning the fundamentals of attacking play and defending.

Developing confidence and creativity in 1v1 situations.

Through mini-games (3v3s, 4v4s…), they better understand players’ roles and the principles of formations and positions, preparing for 11v11 in future years.

2. City Football Language

 

Young players can Learn English by Playing Football. Players would be taught basic and advanced English language while keeping up with their football development.

 

3. City Football Development & Performance

 

Players would be taught how to play Football at the City Football Academy in the Etihad Campus. Players would be taught through practical sessions and workshops by City Football coaches and specialists.

 

Development courses are available for 9-13-year-olds and Performance courses for 14-17-year-olds.

4. City Football Training Experience

 

The Program allows Teams and groups from all over the UK and abroad to train at City Football Academy in Manchester throughout the year.

 

Players will participate in engaging and innovative sessions, giving them an insight into how City’s teams train and play daily.

 

Players would have the opportunity to gain access to the world-class facilities at the Manchester City Football Academy in England.

 

Manchester City Academy Requirements

 

Football Talent – The most basic requirement from your end is your ability to play football. Your natural abilities and skills are the most basic requirements for success in the Academy.

Academic record – You should have a good academic record

Good videotapes – Much more improvements in videotapes of yourself would go a long way to help you get into the list.

Good Medical report – You should have a good medical report.

Language – You should be able to speak English fluently.

Consent – Your parents or guardians must be involved before you can be admitted.

International Students – You should obtain a student visa at your country’s embassy.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS, is an international standardised test or exam for English language proficiency for non-native English speakers or the international community.
