Man United’s Erik ten Haag could make surprise request for Kalvin Phillips
Perhaps one of the best talents in the Leeds United set up at the time and before the switch to Manchester City, Kalvin Phillips was expected to fulfill his biggest dream at the Etihad Stadium. However, he could not command a shirt in the first team and sat on the bench for most of the season.
And as things stand, Pep Guardiola is looking for another player to occupy the position the former Leeds United man occupies. The Cityzens have already witnessed the departure of Ilkay Gündoğan. And with the expected arrival of Declan Rice, the Etihad Stadium is set for another blockbuster season.
For Kalvin Phillips, the lack of game time at Manchester City has increased the rumours surrounding his future, some of which have been linked to Manchester United.
The Cityzens paid 50 million euros for the English star because he could manage 595 minutes in 21 games.
Now Fichajes are reporting Manchester United could be open to offering 40 million euros for Kalvin Phillips as they hope to get the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window. The report suggests ten Haag would have requested for the player.
United are looking to strengthen their squad for next season as the objective is to challenge the Premier League title.
