After six years with the Catalan club, Luis Suarez left for Atletico Madrid after a major shake off in the club.
The Catalan club made several changes which include the appointment of Ronald Koeman as head coach of the team.
However, Luis Suarez is not happy at the way the top hierarchy at the club treated his exit from the club.
According to the Uruguayan attacker, he was not treated fairly. The club did not discuss with him about an abandoned project.
“We are great players. I was in Barcelona for six years and there were other ways to talk to me and tell me that the club is no longer planning with me. But the way was not right and that also bothered Leo. He knows what we went through here together and how bad we were at that moment, ” said Suarez after the World Cup qualifiers against Chile, cited by Fussball Transfers.
The 33-year old Uruguayan international was the main figurehead at Barcelona alongside Lionel Messi who started his professional career at the club after his move from Newells Old Boys as a teenager.
Suarez was touched by the moves by the club’s top hierarchy towards his exit from the club. He was saddened by the events and the outcome.
“I cried because they did this to me. I did not take the news from the club that they were looking for a buyer well. It was mainly about the way because one day you have to accept that your own time is up. ”
Suarez scored a brace in his debut game for Atletico Madrid last two weeks in a La Liga game with Granada.
