Lucas Hernandez’s injury and Bayern Munich transfer decision

The injury to Lucas Hernandez and Noussair Mazraoui has dealt Bayern Munich a significant blow ahead of the resumption of play in Europe after the World Cup. Today, Sport1 are returning the Bavarians and could seek an alternative in the market.

 

Lucas Hernandez suffered a cruciate ligament during the France World Cup opening game with Australia. He is expected to miss the rest of the tournament and will be out for up to six months, according to the German portal.

 

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic in an interview with Sport1, explained the surprise at the injury and what the club could do in this regard.

 

“Lucas Hernandez’s cruciate ligament tore in his right knee, the doctors of the French national team have informed us,” confirmed sports director Hasan Salihamidzic to SPORT1.

A replacement in January?

The Bosnian confirmed Bayern Munich would not consider entering the market as the club is satisfied with Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano.
