The Longest football (soccer) winning streak in history ranked
The world of football has seen through history astonishing streaks achieved by teams from different countries and leagues. Sometimes those streaks lead to long-standing records that defy all understanding and are the envy of rival teams. And there are plenty of these records that no football team may break even a century after they were set. Here are some teams that had the longest winning streaks in football.
1. The New Saints -2016/17 (27 matches)
Maybe expected to be a team from a weaker league at the top because, most of the time, some leagues are dominated by only a few better-organized teams. It’s the case with the Welsh league, where TNS (The New Saints) is one of the best teams.

In the season 2016/17, this team went on a winning streak of 27 matches and broke the 44-year-old record held by Ajax. The winning streak began in August 2016 and ended in January 2017 when this team played a draw against Newtown Town. Of course, TNS won the league that season.
2. Ajax – 1971/72 (26 matches)
In the 1971/72 season, Ajax was the most dominant team in Europe. That season this team won the treble with Cruyff as their leader and had an amazing streak of winning 26 matches. It was a record that was hard to reach for 44 years. It was a team full of super-talented players that, for the first time, showed to the world “Total Football.”
3. Ajax – 1994/95 (25 matches)
Ajax has one of the best academies for young football talents in the world, so it’s not a coincidence that they are consistently among the best football teams in Europe and World. In season 1994/95, they again dominated in the domestic championship and Europe as they won the Champions League. Ajax managed to win 25 matches in a row in pursuit of those trophies.
4. Coritiba – 2011 (24 matches)
Football is played everywhere, and there are talented players and great teams outside Europe. Brazil is a country where football is a religion. Brazilian team Coritiba holds the world record for a winning streak in more than one competition, as they were winning matches in both Campeonato Paranaense and Copa de Brasil.
5. Bayern Munich – 2019/20 (23 matches)
In one of the best seasons in the club’s history, the giant from Germany won the sextuple, won the Bundesliga, Champions League, DFB Pokal, DFL Supercup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World cup. Bavarians were very dominant with Lewandowski in the attack, and it will be forever remembered how they humiliated Barcelona in the Champions League, winning 8:2.

In this period of dominance, Bayern Munich managed to win 23 matches in a row in all competitions. However, this great strike came to an end. Bayern Munich suffered their first defeat of that season, and it was quite a convincing one – against Hoffenheim 4:1, ending the streak of 23 victories in all competitions.
