Liverpool set their sights on another Brighton star, Pervis Estupinan
Liverpool are apparently monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion defender Pervis Estupinan for a possible move.
According to a report, Liverpool is preparing to replace Andy Robertson long-term. They have highlighted 25-year-old Brighton defender Pervis Estupinan.
According to people with direct knowledge of the situation, Liverpool could sign Estupinan before he agreed with Brighton.
The team decided not to move for Estupinan then because they thought Robertson would be sufficient for the coming season.
However, an examination of Robertson’s fitness status has caused Liverpool to reevaluate their options and explore alternatives, with the Reds now looking to bolster that side of the pitch by prioritizing Estupinan.
Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are Liverpool’s current left-back options.
The Greek international has had a difficult time getting into the lineup regularly at Anfield and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Liverpool will require a backup left-back if Tsimikas decides to go. Estupinan would therefore be a wise addition to the Merseyside club.
The 25-year-old is accustomed to playing in the Premier League and should be able to contribute immediately at Liverpool.
On Sunday, Liverpool will face Chelsea in their first Premier League match. Both teams will be vying for a Champions League spot this season when they square off at Stamford Bridge in the late kickoff.
