Lazio close to signing former Arsenal man Guendouzi for €13m
Lazio have accelerated their efforts to land former Arsenal star Mattéo Guendouzi from Marseille. The Italian Serie A club has been keen on transferring the player to Italy since the start of the summer transfer window.
Lazio are desperate for at least one signing before the transfer market ends next week following the departure of their key player Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Al Hilal Saudi Arabia.
Perhaps a significant addition to the team, Mattéo Guendouzi has been tipped to be a quality addition as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League group stages.
The Frenchman, on the other hand, would have missed out on the UCL staying back in France after Marseille was eliminated from the UCL by Greek Super League side Panathinaikos.
As part of the deal, Lazio will pay 13 million euros for the Frenchman and an additional 5 million euros for variables, which brings the total amount to 15 million euros, according to fichajes.com.
