Which La Liga team will play in the UEFA Champions League next season?
Real Madrid was dumped out of the Champions League in the semi-finals as they lost the second-leg clash to Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. The 14-time Champions, however, made it to the competition next season after finishing in the top four.
On the other side, Barcelona were crowned Champions for the first time since 2018/19 after enduring a troubled rebuild.
Xavi Hernandez’s men could not make it past the group stages as they were downgraded to the Europa League and were eventually eliminated by Manchester United during their previous outing.

Next season, Spain will have five teams in the UCL following Sevilla’s triumph in the Europa League final against AS Roma.
League Champions Barcelona will play in the UCL next season alongside Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. Sevilla, who joined as Europa League winners, are the fifth team on the block.

How do teams in La Liga qualify for the Champions League?
According to UEFA Club coefficients, Spain has been allotted four automatic tickets for the UCL. The tickets will be based on the placement of teams at the end of each season.
In the last decade, the country has enjoyed five representatives in the competition due to teams’ success in the Europa League and the UCL.

Andalusia-based club Sevilla has made more appearances in the UCL as Spain’s fifth representative in the competition due to their performance in the Europa League.
The Los Nervionenses won 2022/23 final and claimed their seventh title.
