Spanish La Liga teams maintain a healthy representation in European football. Especially Real Madrid, the Los Blancos have won a record 14 UCL titles and came close to making the finals last season.

The 2022/23 campaign had mixed results for La Liga teams in Europe. Real Madrid was eliminated from the semi-finals in the UCL by Manchester City over two legs.

Andalusian-based club Sevilla won its seventh Europa League title following the final-day defeat of AS Roma. The Rojiblancos Sevillistas have enjoyed success in second-tier competition in the past decade.

UEFA Champions League

Barcelona (Champions), Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Sevilla.

Barcelona were crowned champions of the Spanish top flight for the first time since 2018/19 and increased their title count to 27 behind Real Madrid with 35 titles.

Real Madrid has been one of the most consistent teams in the UCL since the establishment of the competition. The Los Blancos boost of a record fourteen titles

Atletico Madrid made a comeback to finish in the top four following a poor outing in UCL last season and in the league. Real Sociedad also earned a place in the competition, while Sevilla became the fifth team following their triumph in the UEL.

UEFA Europa League

In the second-tier European football competition, Spanish teams have maintained a healthy representation in the last decades.

Villarreal CF and Real Betis are the two teams to represent La Liga in the Europa League next season.

Villarreal won its first title in 2020/21 following the final-day defeat of Manchester United.

UEFA Europa Conference League

The newly created UEFA Europa Conference League will have just one representative from each member country. The team that finished 7th at the end of the season will qualify for the competition.
