La Liga prize money 2021/2022 – TV rights, money distribution
The La Liga prize money is considered as one of the highest financial revenue although it could differ from how it is applicable in the English Premier League and Bundesliga.
The Spanish La Liga is Spain’s top-flight professional football league contested by 20 teams is considered as one of the best in the world.

Telefonica and Movistar secured the league’s domestic TV rights for around ‘1.89 billion in a 3-year deal.
For MediaPro, the company also remitted ‘750 million for three seasons which brings it to a total of ‘2.70 billion (£1.8 billion) for the three-year domestic rights.

La Liga’s new bill puts domestic and overseas yearly TV revenue in one pot.
10% will be allocated for division La Liga Santander (La Liga 2 teams), while the rest of the 90% will be distributed according to the following model:
- Equal-share: 50% of the league’s financial revenue will be distributed equally between all 20 top-flight clubs
- Merit-Money: 25% will be distributed between all clubs in the league according to positions other criteria which is based on the last 5 years.
- Resources-Generation: 25% will be distributed according to each team’s capacity for generating resources.
This includes the number of official club members, season tickets sold and fans in attendance.

La Liga prize money for the 2021/2022 season
The prize money for the 2021/2022 season has not been released yet.
However, the winner of the 2021/2022 La Liga league season is expected to pocket around €45-50m million for winning the title.
