Kelechi Iheanacho Leicester City contract: star to stay beyond 2022
Kelechi Iheanacho Leicester City contract which is expected to come to an end in 2022 might as well see him remain at the club until further notice.
The Nigerian who is currently enjoying a bright surprise spike in his career is currently considering to remain with foxes for a long term, which could see him as Jamie Vardy’s successor despite his poor start.
Last month, Iheanacho surprised many as he popped out to score his first Premier League hat trick for Leicester City against relegation-threatened Sheffield United.
As the 2021/2022 Premier League season draws nearer, kelechi gets closer to the end of his stay at Leicester City. But they would like to tie him down and possibly increase his current wage which stood at £60,000-a-week.
But how possible would this be, seeing Leicester City keep him with a new lucrative deal beyond 2022 and how many years contract would he get?
Well, the news is true that Kelechi Iheanacho will remain with Leicester City which will see him earn higher compared to his previous five-year deal which saw him earn £60,000-a-week.
As things stand currently, the duration of his possible new contract with the club is not yet known as it is left for the club to decide during the negotiations with him.
What matters here is the impact he has made and how it would translate into Leicester City invaluable tool in the nearest future since Jamie Vardy already ageing.
Be that as it may, the Mirror had revealed the plans by the club to offer Iheanacho a lucrative new deal as he enters the final season of his initial contract.
According to Mirror, Iheanacho believes in what Brendan Rodgers is already doing to his career. In the eyes of the player, the coach has taken his career to the next level and that there’s no desire yet to leave the club.
The 24-year old and the club appear to be a happy family after all. Leicester is currently third on the Premier League log and is fighting for a place in the UEFA Champions League.
The current form of the player alongside the efforts of other players could prove vital as the foxes continue their pursuit for a place on the continent next year.
Last season, they got closer, by they were robbed by injuries that marred most of the first team players. But this season is different as Rodgers now has a player he can fall back to.

His contract runs until the summer of 2022. Even though he started poorly since his arrival at the club, he had always managed to score crucial goals in cup games.
Now at the biggest stage when Brendan Rodgers had decided to uplift him to this standard, more records are expected to come.

Leicester would want to keep him at the club as Vardy’s natural successor.
But right now, what matters is how and what they would do to clinch one of the tickets to the Champions League next season.
