Kelechi Iheanacho become FA Cup African all-time goalscorer, breaks Drogba’s record
Nigerian red hot attacker Kelechi Iheanacho has broken the record held by Ivorian Didier Drogba as becomes FA Cup African all-time leading goalscorer.
This achievement was made after the former Manchester City man claimed two goals to see off Manchester United in the English FA Cup last Sunday.
Kelechi Iheanacho
Iheanacho opened by scoring through a defensive error inside Manchester United six-yard box to put the foxes in the lead.
As if that was not enough, Iheanacho buried the foxes through the lines after a header from Your Tielemans cross.
He leads the African all-time FA Cup highest goalscorer’s chart with 13 goals, overtaking former Chelsea attacker and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba to the record.
His confidence which has grown for the past ten matches continues to put him on the map, even as Leicester City starts to consider Iheanacho as Jamie Vardy’s long-term successor at the club.
Right now, Kelechi Iheanacho is the highest all-time English FA Cup African goalscorer with 13 goals, overtaking Didier Drogba’s initial record of 12 goals.
Iheanacho is expected to return to Leicester City after the international break with the Nigerian national team even the Super Eagles targets a place in the African Cup of Nations.
The eagles tackle the Benin Republic and Lesotho in the remaining games.
Meanwhile, Henry Onyekuru has declared war on the two countries.
