FC Barcelona finally got a buyer for Jean-Clair Todibo, as the young Frenchman finally makes a switch to Portuguese Primeira Liga side SL Benfica on a two-year loan deal (H/t Fussball Transfers).
Todibo played the whole of last season on loan at Bundesliga side Schalke 04. But the Germans could not meet Barcelona’s demands of €20 million euros for a permanent commitment.
The Portuguese league club will pay two million euros to Barcelona as a compensation for the loan agreement. Benfica in the details of the agreement with the Catalans is expected to pay €20 million euros for a permanent commitment at the end of the two seasons.
At Barca, Todibo clearly has little but no chance at all. The recent signing of Ronald Koeman as head coach of the club has apparently brought lots of changes in the team.
The 20-year old French centre-back is expected to add more creativity in the defense for Benfica, who has also lost some notable players in the summer transfer window.
