Following their opening-day defeat to MK Dons, Wrexham AFC will return to action in the First round of the Carabao Cup at Racecourse Ground.

The Red Dragons had a tough test on Saturday afternoon, but the attention shifts to the tie with Wigan Athletic. 

Wrexham’s last outing in the Carabao Cup ended in a second-round elimination by Premier League side Aston Villa in the 2007/08 season.

Visitors, Wigan Athletic got off to a good start with a 2-1 win over Derby County on the road. The Latics were eliminated in the first round by Fleetwood Town last season.
