Leeds United will begin the new season in the EFL Championship with a test against Cardiff City FC at Elland Road.

The Whites face a new challenge in the English second-tier competition following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

A series of friendlies in July has helped to maintain the team’s performance as they look to secure an immediate return to the EPL.

Visitors Cardiff City on the other hand had a disappointing campaign last season as they finished 21st and narrowly escaped relegation to the third tier.

The Bluebirds were also involved in a series of friendlies to keep fit ahead of the new season. The fixture against the Whites is one of the earliest tough tests they’ll face in the new season.
