Nigerian Midfielder Innocent Bonke becomes the newest arrival at French Ligue 1 side Lorient in the transfer window following an agreement between the player’s representatives and the club.
Bonke has been a free agent since the beginning of the year and was free to negotiate with a club following the expiration of his contract with Malmö FF of the Swedish league.
As per french portal Sofoot, Innocent Bonke signed a three-year contract with FC Lorient in the French league and is expected to commence training with the first team even as the team continues its hunt for survival in the top flight.

Speaking during his presentation, Innocent Bonke could not hide his satisfaction with the club and his representatives after the deal was finalized.
“Reuniting with Terem Moffi, another Nigerian international makes me extremely happy. He revealed himself to the general public last season, and I intend to be inspired by him to be successful in my new colours”, said the Nigerian midfielder as published by Sofoot.com
Innocent Bonke spent three seasons with Malmö FF in the Swedish league, winning the Allsvenskan three times in 2017, 2020, and 2021. In 2014, he was with the Norwegian club Lillestrøm when he drew the attention of Malmö FF, who noticed his abilities and potentials.
He is expected to help FC Lorient retain their position in the French Ligue 1 this season and the next. The club is currently struggle to keep its status in the top flight alive.
