Nigerian and Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has shown his gratitude following Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to hand him a first-team shirt in the last set of games in the Premier League.
The former Arsenal man provided an impressive assist for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to put Everton in the lead last weekend.
So far, he has played incredibly well, compared to his early days at the club. He had always been criticized for his inability to create goal-scoring opportunities as an offensive midfielder.
But following the win against his former club Arsenal in the Premier League, Iwobi went on to reflect on his performance on the pitch in front of a limited number of spectators at the Goodison Park.
“It felt great to come away with a victory against my old club Arsenal on Saturday and continue what has been a positive period for us,” said Iwobi according to the club’s official website.
Nine points from three league games, Everton are looking strong for another return to the top half of the Premier League table, a position they once occupied at the start of the league.
“I’m happy with my contribution and to be creating chances – and it was a great feeling coming back against my old club – but it’s all about the team performance.” Iwobi added.

A new wave of development and means to cement a place
This is an avenue for Iwobi to cement a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven. The Italian manager has his own choice to make, but if he continues with this form, he might as well win the heart of the manager.
