Tensions around the Santiago Bernabéu have increased following Real Madrid’s failure to secure a Champions League final ticket following the loss to Manchester City.

Especially in the attack, the loss exposed the club’s weakness in the offensive position and the need for an urgent change.

In the last couple of seasons, Real Madrid had relied on the brilliance of Karim Benzema, which paid off during the 2021/22 season when the club won the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Club World Cup.

However, the tide has changed significantly as the Frenchman no longer seems to be a reliable player up front. And apart from this, there is a tempting offer from Saudi Arabia that could lure the striker away in the summer.

Now Marca Commentator Ramón Álvarez de Mon believes the continuity of Benzema is uncertain.

“A few months ago, it came to me through a person close to Benzema that he was hesitating to continue because of an incredible offer from Arabia. I tried to get a feel for the feeling at Madrid, and it was clear that he was staying, and that’s why I believed it. Now I’m doubting again”. Says Ramon, as cited by Bernabéu Digital.
