How to watch Bundesliga on Startimes in Sub Saharan Africa, Nigeria



The German Bundesliga returns of Startimes as the Chinese pay tv network renews it’s broadcast rights which covers Sub Saharan Africa including Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, etc.


The announcement which was made on the company’s office facebook handle prior to the start of the 2020/2021 season.

At least, lovers of the Bundesliga quickly switched to Startimes after the company announced it’s acquisition of the TV broadcast rights.


What the things that makes the company is it’s ability to show almost all german league matches throughout the season involving top teams like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Borussia M’Gladbach, Bayer Leverkusen, etc.


The German Bundesliga as a result of its increasing popularity has led to the demands by viewers wishing to see live games of their favourite teams at the comfort of their homes.


Despite the dominance of Bayern Munich in the German elite division, the league has continued to attract the attention of fans since RB Leipzig broke into the scene with lots of surprises including the elimination of Tottenham, Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League during the 2019/2020 season.


How to watch Bundesliga on Startimes in Sub Saharan Africa


For the broadcast rights Chinese digital pay-TV network Startimes alongside French Company Canal Afrique, Azam and GH TV hold the exclusive rights to broadcast live games.


In Sub Saharan Africa, Startimes (English) and Canal Afrique (French) controls the right while Azam TV is in charge of Tanzania in Eastern African. If you are in South Africa, you can also watch it live on StarSat and  South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).


Back in 2015 when the exclusive deal was signed between the DFL and Startimes, the company from China held the majority of rights, but the recent inclusion of Canal Afrique change the model of operation.


The exclusive deal with Startimes was a colourful experience for viewer across the Sub Saharan Africa region as some African football legends including Jay Jay Okocha featured in Magazine shows tagged Bundesliga Africa.
