Vancouver Whitecaps Academy is the development wing of MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
The Whitecaps FC Academy is a Canadian development soccer team and the academy of professional team Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Founded in 2007, the Academy is a full-time, fully funded, player development program having other youth soccer development teams as affiliates across the Vancouver region and Canada.

The Academy runs an elite development program for boys and girls. For players to be selected for a place in the Academy, players would go through an evaluation process.

Meaning, the club uses recommendations from its scouting network to identify the best players suitable for the Academy.

Vancouver Whitecaps Academy – Girls Elite REX tryouts
To further help in developing women Soccer in Canada, Whitecaps FC partnered with BC Soccer and Canada Soccer, to launch the first Women’s Regional EXCEL Centre (REX) in Western Canada.
The program aimed to create a pathway for women’s soccer prospects from across Canada to attend school, train, and play together daily in Burnaby, BC.
The good aspect about the Girls Elite Super REX is a fully funded, full-time development program.
The Program also uses a standardized national curriculum for female players from U-13 to U-18, feeding into Canada Soccer’s Women’s National EXCEL Program.
Learning objectives of Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Super REX Program
Individualized programs target areas of player ability and deficiency using statistical and video analysis.
Team concepts, tactical applications, injury prevention, and athletic nutritional requirements.
Age-specific training with an emphasis on speed of play and performance criteria.
Training is based out of Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby, BC, with the younger Pre-Girls Elite group at Simon Fraser University (SFU).
How to join the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Super REX Program
Participation in the Program is by invitation only and done in conjunction with Canada Soccer National EXCEL staff.
Vancouver Whitecaps Pre-Academy
Before receiving the full nod for the MLS Academy and Girls Elite REX levels, players can be selected for the Whitecaps FC Pre-MLS Academy and Whitecaps FC Pre-Girls Elite Program.
Players at the U-14 age level are identified and selected through the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) and BC Soccer Provincial Program.
