AC Milan is gradually turning to a title-challenging club in the Italian Serie A after years in the dark. At the moment, some of the most influential players at the club are on the verge of leaving the club at the end of 2021.
Donnarumma & Calhanoglu could be on their way out of the Serie A. But the top hierarchy at the club wants to extend their stay beyond 2021.
For Donnarumma, his place as the number one is currently unchallenged for years. The youngster has become one of the most talented goalkeepers in the Italian Serie A within the past few years.
Reports have emerged, he could be eyeing a move away from Milan. However, this is not the case with the club’s board of directors.
As things stand currently, plans are ongoing to ensure the 21-year old signs a contract extension with the club.
Accordingly, board boss Ivan Gazidis, technical director Paolo Maldini and sports director Frederic Massara are confident of being able to keep the duo in the long term.
Gianluigi Donnarumma made 200 appearances for AC Milan at 21 years and 146 days old on the 23rd of July 2020. At the same age, Gianluigi Buffon had played 134 club matches for Parma.
