This weekend’s Bundesliga matchup at PreZero Arena will feature TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich.

Last Friday, Hoffenheim defeated helpless Schalke 04 3-0 to snap a three-game league winless streak.

Andre Breitenreiter’s side never seemed in doubt as Munas Dabbur doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time, with Robert Skov converting two penalties on either side of half-time. That victory propelled them to 4th in the standings.

Meanwhile, Bayern defeated Freiburg 5-0 on Sunday to overtake their rivals and move into the second position in the standings. Five different goal scorers contributed to Julian Naglesmann’s team’s victory in the unusually one-sided match, including Serge Gnabry, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Leroy Sane, Sadio Mane, and Marcel Sabitzer.

Team News

Kevin Vogt will be unavailable for Hoffenheim’s encounter against Bayern on Saturday after receiving his fifth caution of the year against Schalke. As a result, he will be suspended for one match.

In Breitenreiter’s back three, Kevin Akpoguma might take the place of Vogt, with Kabak moving into the centre position. Sebastian Rudy, though, would be needed in a position he has previously played against his old team.

Choupo-Moting has scored three goals in two starts over the past week, and Nagelsmann is likely to keep him in the starting lineup even if Kingsley Coman is back after missing the previous league game due to suspension.

Due to a shoulder injury, Manuel Neuer has missed Bayern’s previous three games; however, he should be fit enough to return to goal. Bouna Sarr and Lucas Hernandez are still receiving medical attention.

Hoffenheim predicted lineup:

Baumann; Akpoguma, Kabak, Nsoki; Skov, Promel, Geiger, Angelino; Baumgartner; Rutter, Dabbur

Bayern Munich predicted lineup:

Neuer; Pavard, Upamecano, De Ligt, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Musiala, Mane; Choupo-Moting

Hoffenheim 1-2 Bayern Munich

Hoffenheim has the talent and momentum to put Bayern to the test, but I believe the visitors to emerge victorious in the end.

Nagelsmann’s team appears to have recovered from their dismal run of performances in September, and they will be intensely focused on closing the gap at the top of the standings before the World Cup starts next month.
