Hertha Berlin faces huge competition from French Ligue 1 side Rennes in a bid to sign Jeff Reine-Adélaïde from Olympique Lyon in the summer.
Yesterday, it became clear the intentions Hertha Berlin had towards signing the Lyon star ahead every other competitor as reported by Bild via Fussball Transfers.
But despite interest from Rennes, the Berliners remain in pole position to sign the Frenchman who also played for English Premier League side Arsenal.
According to the German portal, agreement with Lyon for the services of Adelaide is already in progress and a deal could be announced soonest.
The Berlin club are far ahead of every other club when it comes to talks with Lyon.
Hertha apparently wants to spend their millions in the summer so as to ensure greater competition for the Bundesliga title this season.
Rennes, on the other hand, is also said to be working closely in a bid to sign the Frenchman in the summer, although no concrete evidence of negotiations with Lyon has been known.
