Vasco da Gama 25-year old Brazilian left-back Henrique Silva bids farewell to his boyhood club after switching to French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon ahead of the 2021/2022 football season in France.
The versatile Brazilian left-back has been in the books of Vasco da Gama from the youth setup starting from 2003 and was successfully graduated to the first team.
The recent relegation of the club however sees the Brazilian defender with an option to seek a new challenge after several years with the club.
Henrique Silva had a total of 192 appearances with a goal to his name throughout his entire career with CR Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian league division.
As revealed on his Instagram page, the left-back is already looking forward to the new season with Olympique Lyon who look to enter the scene in France act a disappointing performance in the past few seasons.
The words of the 25-years old reflect on his stay at the club and also thanked the club and supporters.
“Eternal gratitude! I close a 16-year reign at the club that welcomed me as a child, where I grew up, learning daily from wonderful people, like teachers, coaches, teammates (from youth categories to the professional team), and all the employees, who have helped me a lot during all these years.
In São Januário, I made friends that I will carry in my heart forever and I will be eternally grateful to this giant institution. Thank you for everything, Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama! ”
Henrique is already set to be the latest signing for Olympique Lyon ahead of the 2021/2022 football season in France.
