Nigeria’s success in the U17 age grade level has seen a rapid increase in the number of young players struggling to make a cut in the national youth setup.
The Nigerian Football Federation expects nothing less than a positive outcome at the end of the tournament, which serves as preparatory games for the CAF U17 Tournament slated for a later date after football competitions across Africa were cancelled as a result of effects caused by the coronavirus pandemic last year.
The winner of the tournament will be among the representatives of West Africa in the upcoming CAF U17 Nations Cup in Morocco.
Nigeria are five-time winners of the tournament which produced a whole lot of stars including Kelechi Iheanacho, Mikel Obi, Victor Osimhen and the likes.
Nigerian football followers expect nothing less than an impressive outing in Togo even though the tournament is coming a bit earlier.
The Golden Eaglets are by far one of the most respected teams at this level.
The Eaglets will begin with a game against Ivory Coast before another clash will take place with the Black Starlets of Ghana.
