Galatasaray leading the race for Sergio Ramos
After Besiktas openly rejected the Idea of signing Sergio Ramos, Galatasaray are now in the lead to land the Real Madrid legend.
Ramos has been a free agent following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. Although there have been rumours surrounding his future, he is yet to put pen to paper.
But now he could join Galatasaray, especially as the team edged closer to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stages.
The Spaniard would like to return to Champions League football this season, and the Turkish giants could offer such.
According to Spanish Newspaper AS, as relayed by Fichajes.com, Ramos has not accepted club offers because he only wants to join a competitive team.
The newspaper claims his intentions of joining Galatasaray have been made, ruling out a move to Saudi Arabia or the MLS.
AS also reveals the club is willing to pay a 5 million euro salary while the player asks for €15 million each season.
