Fulham striker Mitrovic to join Neymar at Al-Hilal
Aleksandar Mitrovic will likely join forces with Neymar if Al-Hilal agrees to Fulham’s asking price.
Despite playing against Everton over the weekend, the Serbian striker is set on moving to Saudi Arabia.
He is believed to be let go provided the Saudi outfit pays Fulham’s asking price of £45 million. Fulham would then make a £22 million profit on the sum they paid Newcastle to acquire Mitrovic in 2018.
This summer, the Saudi Pro League has expressed interest in a number of Premier League stars, including the 28-year-old striker.
According to sources, Mitrovic was offered a deal of £21.3 million per year, or £400,000 per week.
However, Fulham turned down the Saudi team’s initial £25.5 million and subsequent £35 million proposals before going ahead and putting a £52 million price tag on the player.
Despite having three years left on his contract with the club, Mitrovic reportedly promised his family he would never play for Fulham again.
Mitrovic joined the West London club on loan during the 2017–18 season before making the move permanent in the summer of 2018. Since then, he has scored a staggering 111 goals in 205 games.
He was crucial in helping the team, which had been promoted the year before, finishing tenth in the Premier League last season.
If Fulham accepts the request, Mitrovic can play alongside Brazilian superstar Neymar, who joined Al Hilal on Tuesday.
Al Hilal has also signed Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, former Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and ex-Barcelona player Malcom.
Can Fulham survive in the premier league without Mitrovic?
