Fulham close to signing Hudson-Odoi
Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of leaving Chelsea for Fulham in the summer. Fabrizio Romano reports that after Callum Hudson-Odoi returns from his loan in the Bundesliga, Fulham plans to sign him.
With the Italian journalist suggesting that Chelsea has confirmed that he is “not an integral part of the club,” a move to another Premier League squad could be just what he needs to get consistent minutes in the top flight finally.
While Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have joined AC Milan, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, and N’Golo Kante have all transferred to the Saudi Pro League. Cesar Azpilicueta, the team’s captain, has moved on to Atletico Madrid.
A few years ago, Hudson-Odoi was seen as Chelsea’s brightest star, and the team had high expectations for him.
However, he had failed to achieve the heights many predicted, and last summer, he was allowed to leave the club on loan for the season in the hope of getting some much-needed playing time with Bayer Leverkusen.
The winger, who was once valued at £60 million, started a number of games for the German team but once again did not live up to the hype, and it was decided not to make the move permanent.
The 22-year-old could be used in any number of positions due to his ability to play on both the left and right sides of the field, offering flexible attacking options.
If he moves, he may revive his friendship with former teammate Willian, and the two could be goal-scoring threats on the wings while sending crosses to newly signed striker Raul Jimenez.
