FT Exclusive: Nice interested in Hugo Lloris amid Tottenham contract talks
French Ligue 1 side Nice are looking at the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on a free transfer.
The 35-year old French goalkeeper who has spent over 10 years with the London based club could be looking elsewhere when his contract comes to an end.
As exclusively revealed by FussballTransfers, Hugo Lloris is also open to a return to French football with Nice as his primary destination.
Although he remains the first choice of Tottenham Hotspur, the current situation of his contract with the club could be behind the latest Nice interest.
Spurs and Hugo Lloris are already negotiating a possible contract extension. But it appears no real progress has been made yet.
The Frenchman began his professional career with the Nice youth team. He was later promoted to the senior where he played 79 times. He later moved to Lyon where he spent four seasons before switching to Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
Since then, he’s featured 315 times in the Premier League for the club. Lloris is also a World Cup winner with the French Men’s National Team during the 21st edition in Russia.
As per 90Min, Spurs coach Antonio Conte is unsure of the future of the goalkeeper, but also claims he may never be a problem for the club.
Hugo Lloris could be heading to Nice in the French league if the contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur fail to see the light of day.
