Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié remain keen on a contract extension with AC Milan before the expiration of his current contract which runs through 2022.
The 23-year old from the West African Nation of Ivory Coast was on loan from Atalanta for two years in 2017 before making his move permanent.
The versatile midfielder has since turned out to be a much more favoured player under the management of Pioli. Since then, he has become a key member of AC Milan first team.
According to ‘Corriere Dello Sport’ as cited by Fussball Transfers, the two parties are interested in a long term partnership although negotiations are not expected to start just yet.
In 13 appearance for AC Milan, Kessié has been directly involved in three goals helping Milan to a fine start this season in the Italian Serie A.
So far, AC Milan holds a commanding position at the top of the league table amid Juventus slump which could be attributed to the recent managerial changes at the club.
