Flamengo responds to Gerson Santos Olympique Marseille rumours
Brazilian Série A side Flamengo has responded to Gerson Santos Olympique Marseille rumours as well as other links from top European clubs in the race to sign the midfielder.
The reports from Brazil suggest Flamengo could be open to selling 23-year old midfielder Gerson Santos amid Olympique Marseille rumours.
For Olympique Marseille, the club has reportedly made an improved bid valued in the region of € 25million.

“Monday or Tuesday maybe, we’ll see to talk. They know what Flamengo is, they know that recruiting a Flamengo player is difficult. Even Gerson was difficult to sign, it was not easy, clearly not.
He made a lot of efforts to come here, his father helped a lot, and he achieved great things here, ” said Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz as published by Foot Mercato.
The vice president of the club further went on to reveal the club’s plans as it relates to Gerson Santos potential sale
“like me must speak with other clubs, in Europe or around the world. We listen to everyone. This is the market. We must talk to people, that’s part of the job, ” added the club vice president.
Gerson played an important part in the club’s success during the 2019 Copa Libertadores, helping the club lift the Competition.
For Olympique Marseille, the Competition is expected to grow as more clubs continue to key into plans by Flamengo to sell in the coming transfer window.
Gerson Santos is currently one of the best players Flamengo has to offer. His overall team contributions are enormous.
