FC Augsburg part ways with Daniel Baier

FC Augsburg has finally parted ways with their record appearance player Daniel Baier after 335 games under his name.

Daniel Baier’s reign at FC Augsburg will finally come to an end as the club sees no reason to continue with the player.

As the ‘Bild’ reports, via Fussball Transfers, the contract with the 36-year-old six was canceled. His current contract with the club was dated until 2021, and the captain had only extended it by one year in January.

Under the new coach Heiko Herrlich, Baier lost his regular place in the final sprint of the season.

To this effect, Augsburg had already signed TobiasS (30), as his successor.

The manager continued: “We would like to thank Daniel Baier for his commitment to our FCA over the years. Since he is such a well-deserved player for our FCA, we have agreed a farewell game with him so that he can also say goodbye to all FCA fans. ” Baier meanwhile says: ” For me it is the chance to end my career to take another adventure, because physically I feel very fit. Or I end my career with relegation after this extraordinary season. I will discuss this with my family in the coming weeks. ”
