The Emirates Stadium is a four-tiered bowl with translucent polycarbonate roofing that extends over the stands but not over the pitch. The stadium appears to dazzle in the daytime and glimmer at night due to its glass and steel design.
It has received numerous design honours, including the Best Major Project Award and Best Use of Architectural Design.
Standard seating is available in the stadium’s upper and lower sections. Two levels below ground comprise the stadium’s support structures, including commercial kitchens, restrooms, press centres, and classrooms.
The director’s box is part of the primary, middle tier, sometimes referred to as “Club Level,” which is also the most expensive. This level has 7,139 seats available. The Emirates Stadium is a continuous bowl, although it has been divided into four sections to honour the former Highbury Ground.
Location
The Emirates Stadium lies in the Islington neighbourhood of north London, slightly over two miles from Kings Cross St Pancras railway station.
There are numerous methods to take public transportation to get to the stadium. One option is to use the underground (tube). The closest tube station is Arsenal, located on the Piccadilly line. Stations Finsbury Park (Victoria and Piccadilly line) and Highbury & Islington are good alternatives (Victoria line and London overground). The stadium is about a 10-minute walk from either station.
Capacity
It is 60,260 seating capacity places it behind Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford, and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as England’s fourth-largest football stadium. There were rumours of increasing the seating capacity, but nothing has been done so far.
Facilities
In the revitalized and relatively calm Highbury neighbourhood is where you’ll find the Emirates Stadium. The area around the stadium, primarily residential, has a few pubs and coffee shops, as well as some places to eat and drink along Holloway Road and Highbury Park Road.
The stadium also provides accessibility features for disabled spectators, such as a Guide Dog Toilet, a Disabled Supporters Match Day Lounge, and Changing Places Toilets with a hoist and changing table
